Below is my catalog of changes I have made to the car via VAGCOM. Here's A full list of known possible tweaks and how-to's. Click each bullet list item to get the details of how it was done. Note, I'm not covering basic VAGCOM How-To here, see the link for those details. Note, Model year 2016's are not exactly the same, and VAGCOM has not been updated to date (1/24/2016) to compensate. Therefore, some of these won't work on those cars, particularily the mods that require going into '5F - Information Electr.'

And then there's the one I was really looking forward to doing: lower the car without having to buy anything.
Disable amber corner lights
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 10
Submodule 0
Bit 3 - Set to 0 to disable amber side markers (U.S. vehicles) (i.e. uncheck the box by Bit 3 to the left)

Disable NAV & Phone warning messages while entering data at speed
Enable Adaptive Brake Lights
[46 - Comfort System] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8
Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active (1 = active)
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active (1 = active)
Both Bit 0 and 1 were unchecked prior to change
Below a good video showcasing how it works.

Enable Hidden menu in MMI
[5F - Information Electr.]
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 6
change 0 to 1
Use this hidden menu at your own risk. I haven't really used it yet or dug around much in it. For lowering the car, it's stated you need to go in here and change a value, but upon inspection, that value was already set correctly for me.
Caution: Keep away from the "Bootloader"
Enable coming home/leaving home function for DRL's only
[Select]
[09 Central electric]
[Coding - 07]
[Long coding helper]
Click on byte 6 and disable bit 4
Leaves the low beams off when unlocking the car and just have the DRLs on when its dark outside, similar to some other Audis. Much cleaner look.

Enable Lap Timer (with boost gauge, oil temp, and shift meter)
[17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 1
Bit 3 - Check the box for "Lap Timer active" Even if you're not looking to track lap times, when in this menu you can see oil temp, a shift 'light' (a meter that builds up to the shift point), and a boost gauge (no values, just gray vertical bar). After enabling this coding, select the lap timer function via your left steering wheel menu control, scroll, and select (see pics to left). Once the car is up to temp, you will see a gray boost bar build vertically on the left side of the DIS. Additionally, if you put the car into manual, you'll now get a shift light functionality via a gray horizontal bar which will fill green as you get near redline. The video below (not me or my car) showcases the boost bar and shift light very well. |
Enable Open / Close Windows and Sunroof via Key Fob
[46 - Cent. Conv.] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] Byte 2
Bit 2 - Set to 1
This coding does 2 things:
Bit 2 - Set to 1
This coding does 2 things:
- Exposes a menu option in MMI for selectively opening front and rear windows and sunroof via a long press of the unlock button on remote (pics below), and
- Enables the same functionality for closing the above via the lock button on the key fob
Enable Video in Motion (VIM) on MMI
[5F - Information Electr.] [Advanced ID - 1A] Note 1st Serial number
[Security Access] Enter Digits 6, 13, 10, 14, 11 of the 1st Serial number
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 48
Set to 255
Reset MMI
Within 5F (first step) you just see a text readout of various info amongst which is the first serial number. For mine, the 1st serial number listed was: 194H00FB013375, which made my security code 07153

Bit 1 – (Front) Uncheck the box or change :Bit 1 to 0
Bit 2 – (Rear) Uncheck the box or change :Bit 2 to 0
Both Bit 1 and 2 were previously checked.

Lower the car!
This is the one that really got me going into these various mods. Sounded too good to be true that you can drop the car just via software, but I suppose that's one advantage of an air suspension ;)
It's a fairly detailed process, but if you follow it step-by-step, it should work. Thanks tons to TunTap on AZ for figuring this out! The below is just edited text from his post on how to do this. Write down your old and new values
There is an additional setting that will prevent your car from auto-lowering at ~30 mph, as well as allow you to raise the suspension while driving at any speed. Standard settings gray out the "raise" button over a certain speed, and are particularly annoying if your car is lowered via the steps above and you would like to keep it raised for an extended period of time (such as city driving with a lot of dips, bumps, ramps, sloped driveways, etc.)
